Imposter syndrome is having a moment. It keeps popping up in workplace culture and leadership podcasts, newsletters and journals. And if it’s in so many thought-leaders’ publications, it’s in the thoughts of our colleagues.

Indeed, the International Journal of Behavioral Science reports that nearly 70% of people have episodes of imposter syndrome, including the most successful among us. That means there’s a good chance some of your team members experience it, too.

That’s why Lauren Dixon centered her latest Rochester Business Journal column around imposter syndrome. She dives into what it is, who gets it and why, its potential upsides and how to create an environment that minimizes its negative impact.
