“Freedom” Horse Update

DS News / 8.25.20

“Freedom,” the Horses on Parade horse that was vandalized earlier this summer and picked up on 490 in partnership with the City of Rochester, RPD, AP Enterprises and other community partners, is currently with its original artists, Robert and Madelyn Whiteside, of Pittsford, to be repainted so it can return to 490. This shows the story of community coming together, and focusing on acts of kindness, not destruction.

Over the weekend, media visited the Whiteside’s home to see “Freedom’s” progress. In a couple weeks, the community will work together (again) to get “Freedom” back to 490. We’ll share an update here at that time.

Thank you, WHEC-TV, WROC-TV, 13WHAM-TV and Spectrum News for visiting with the Whitesides and sharing these important updates about "Freedom."
