In loving memory

Sarah Jones

It’s hard to imagine anyone not liking (if not loving) Sarah. Here, we were smitten from the get-go. Right away, we noticed her sass and brass, her smarts and all-around good vibes. A bit later, she wowed us with her ferocious lip-synching skills. Talent scouts tell us she could have turned pro—easy.

Sarah came to DS after stints with Disney on Ice, Disney Live!, Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey. Clearly, entertainment was in her blood, so it was no surprise to discover she studied and performed improvisational comedy. Of course, as she knew better than most, life is an improv—there’s no dress rehearsal. But she could riff with the best of them.

As a walk-on rookie in her first-ever kickball match, Sarah was absolutely fearless. Her grit and chutzpah are the stuff of legend. Then there were her no-look high-fives and secret handshakes. (Shared only by those in her special club.)

This woman warrior was not only a PR pro, she was a sponge—always learning. And always willing to consider a new approach. Generous to a fault, Sarah served as a trusted mentor to her DS colleagues.

Bottom line: Sarah brought her A Game every day—and she made you want to bring yours, too. Above all, she pushed to make the world a better, more diverse, tolerant and compassionate place.

Much, much too soon, our beloved Sarah slipped the bonds of earth. Although our hearts hurt, we know we are the lucky ones. Because we knew Sarah. We lived, for a time, in her lively orbit. For that, we are so ever grateful.

Thank you, Sarah Lynn Jones. Thank you for sharing your totes love of life, your take-no-prisoners attitude, your infectious laugh, your beautiful heart, your big, big soul.

 Unconditional

Believe it or not, Sarah’s favorite quote isn’t from an Amy Poehler skit, a John Mayer song, or a Seamus Heaney poem. Nonetheless, it’s worth sharing with anyone, anywhere, anytime: Even after all this time, the Sun never says to the Earth, you owe me.’ Look what happens with a love like that. It lights the whole sky.”
