Every month, Dixon Schwabl honors an outstanding employee with the coveted Jaz Janie Award. The award was created to commemorate Dixon Schwabl Public Relations Vice President Jane “Janie” Argenta, who passed away in September 2009. Jane was a fun-loving, compassionate and hardworking professional who touched the lives of many.
The November Jaz Janie recipient is Senior Web Developer Marc Hartwig.
Marc is the unsung hero of the 2017 Great New York State Fair team. When an issue was discovered 48 hours before this year’s opening day, he custom-programmed a solution in mere hours and insisted on staying until 10pm Monday so he could be sure everything was working smoothly and ready to go the next morning.
Marc continued to make himself available at all hours of the day and night—including weekends-- so he was ready when the clients had data to import. He even brought his laptop to a concert one night just in case he needed to sneak away to help our clients.
Throughout all of this, Marc never once uttered a single complaint, but rather said “No problem, I can do that!” with a smile. He is the true embodiment of a team player who will do whatever it takes to “Make it Happen” for our clients when they need it most. His can-do spirit is something we all aspire to. We can think of no one more deserving to be named Jaz Janie. Congratulations, Marc!
