On Thursday, June 22, Dixon Schwabl joined 19 local companies and organizations as finalists at the 2017 Wealth of Health Awards. The awards, now in their 12th year, recognize company wellness initiatives and programs that encourage healthy lifestyles.
Out of the three categories Dixon Schwabl was named a finalist for, the agency walked away with two awards—Employer of the Year (100−199 employees) and Best Company Group Wellness Event.
Dixon Schwabl earned the honor of Employer of the Year for its plethora of programs focused on physical health, including the 2016 team fitness challenge and wellness program, Rock Your Weekend days, team activities, lunch-and-learns and the American Heart Association Heart Walk campaign.
The agency received Best Company Group Wellness Event for its participation in the American Heart Association Heart Walk campaign. A cause near and dear to many, the Dixon Schwabl family rallied together to bring awareness to heart disease in many ways. From helping build a Teaching Garden at East High to baking healthy heart-shaped oatmeal cookie cakes for Valentine’s Day, the Dixon Schwabl team donated more than 800 hours of agency services to the campaign and raised more than $10,000.
In addition to winning these two awards, Studio Manager Connor Dixon-Schwabl was honored as a finalist for Health and Wellness Champion of the Year. As Workplace WOW leader, Connor encourages collaboration and a “Make it Happen” attitude for employees on a daily basis. He also led the DS Team Fitness Challenge, which had more than 80 team members commit to the six-month effort.
